What is
'Functional Fitness'?
Functional fitness is a combination of various movements that challenge you in the gym, but are applicable in real life situations. Think- pressing a barbell overhead and putting a storage bin on the top shelf of your garage; holding two heavy kettlebells at your side, carrying them for a long distance and carrying in heavy bags of groceries from your car (in one trip!); rowing, biking or running intervals so your cardiovascular health is good enough that you can outrun your kids!
That's the goal- to perform constantly varied movements at different intensities inside the gym to improve both your physical and mental health, so your daily life improves overall outside of the gym.
